Our Story

We are proud to be a Connecticut based small business, and proud to be veteran owned and operated. I have spent over 30 years in the food service business including my time in the Marine Corps. After years of working in different kitchens and with different flavors I naturally started to work on combining spices to use in my own home. I spent years adding new spices and tweaking recipes before eventually coming out with what is now known as the Original Misfit blend.

I didn’t set out to change the marketplace or provide some missing spice that everyone needed. I just wanted to season my steak quickly and easily without pulling down half the spice rack and wasting time. Soon it became clear my blend could be used for so much more and after some help from family and friends I decided to start this journey. We finally formed Misfit Spices in 2020 and the rest is history.

We continue to innovate more flavors that will live up to the Original Misfit Blend. I remain committed to using only quality ingredients and continuing to provide some healthy options for you to feel good about using. I believe that people want to cook food that tastes great and are willing to try new things, but time is always a factor. Our seasonings are approachable, delicious, and can be used in so many different ways, making them a time and money saver in the kitchen.
